    British crewmen contract TB
    Big News Network (UPI)
    Monday 10th July, 2006

Queen Elizabeth of England has had to cancel a visit to the country's biggest warship because crew members have contracted tuberculosis.

The HMS Ocean was set to sail into Greenwich, South-East London, to mark the 250th anniversary of the Marine Society, of which the queen is a patron. A smaller vessel, the HMS Albion, has been scheduled to welcome the queen after Friday's cancelation, the Daily Mail reported.

Two mechanical engineers who were working in the engine room of HMS Ocean, a helicopter carrier, have been treated after being diagnosed with TB, the Ministry of Defense confirmed.

One has been discharged and will soon return to work. The other is still hospitalized in Portsmouth, where the HMS Ocean is docked.
