KABUL, Afghanistan -- The deadly strain of bird flu has turned up in Afghanistan.
That word comes in a joint statement from the United Nations and the Afghan government. It says the H5N1 strain was confirmed in six samples tested at a U.N. lab in Italy.
The government said Wednesday it was almost certain of the outbreak and was just waiting for the lab to confirm it.
