    Aegis-equipped destroyer arrives at base
    Big News Network (UPI)
    Saturday 8th July, 2006

A U.S. Navy destroyer equipped with radar that can track North Korea's Taepodong-2 missile docked Saturday at a base near Tokyo.

The USS Mustin is part of a redeployment that includes seven other vessels equipped with the Aegis system at the base in Yokosuka, Kyodo News Service reported. The cruiser USS Shiloh is scheduled to arrive in August.

On July 4, North Korea carried out a test launch of the Taepodong-2, but the missile crashed into the Sea of Japan less than a minute after takeoff.

The Yokosuka base is at the mouth of Tokyo Bay.
